Dato Dr. Patrick Tan Seow Koon

Consultant Anaesthetist and Intensivist

Dr Patrick Tan Seow Koon graduated MBBS from the Royal London Hospital (London University) in 1980, as an anaesthesiologist from the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 1986. He was also a fellow in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre (1996) and as intensivist (EDIC) in 1999. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Malaysia, a medical advisor to the Medical Protection Society, a member of the World Health Organization World Alliance for Patient Safety, founder member of the Acute Kidney Injury Network, former president of the College of Anaesthesiologists, and has served as Secretary, Vice-President and President of the Asia Pacific Association of Critical Care Medicine. He is an active researcher and his journal contribution on the Nipah virus was recognized as the most cited publication in University in 2007.
